Default Is this a good buy

got offered a 1987 for $11,000 S4 guard red tan interior auto,73000 miles, 2 owners garage kept .has service history to about 50000 miles, clean carfax
interior a 9/10 only thing i can find is the dash temp sensor has chipped on edges and the floormats are dirty. exterior is 8.5/ 10 couple of dime size chips on paint in front of left wheel right at bottom and on edge of right front wheel arch has a scrape about 2 inches both have been touched up . paint is shinny needs a good detail. runs and drives good trans seems to change gear with no problems, tires are nearly new. No fluid leeks.
i will have to sell a few projects to get the cash do you all think its a good buy for $11000

From your description, this sounds like a pretty good deal.

If I were you, I'd do some comparison shopping. For example, check e-bay for
similar 87 928s.

If you're getting serious. get a pre-purchase inspection from a 928-knowledgable
mechanic (with an outstanding reputation to boot).

Only with a PPI can you know if it's a good deal. Depending on the result it could a good deal or very bad deal.

Wait. It's not going anywhere for a while. Did anyone mention a PPI? With a TBF check before you go any further. Last timing belt job? Spoiler and belly pan on? ALL electrics working?

Seems high to me, but I guess for a clean car it's okay.

I think if you're selective/patient you can get a really nice one (5-speed too!) for less than $10k. I passed on an 87 5-speed in PA that ran strong, but wasn't my ideal color. Sold for $9600. I kind of regretted passing on it until I found my GT!
