Default Custom body/paint work on an S4

I had my crazy paint guy do a full repaint on my black '87 that was pretty bad. Much of the car was a repaint and it was not looking good, especially up close.
I had him fill the holes from removing the rear bumperettes, rear wiper, side mouldings and all 4 US marker lights. Single stage black, wet sanded and buffed pretty smooth.
It has been rainy and dark, so I don't have the best pics yet.

Why delete stuff? I like the cleaner look of the ROW cars, and don't consider what I'm doing to be a butcher job; more of a return to "original" spec.

BTW, had the front plate screw holes filled too. I keep the front plate in the car.

Awesome - simply awesome. That's the look I'm going for - never thought of deleting the side markers.

I would say you need clear lenses for the turns, and replace the mirrors with GTS style and you're done.

What did you do with the wiring for the lights. If disconnected they will give a warning.
Thanks
Carl

Very nice. What was used to fill in the large areas for the side markers?

Awseome - that's as pure and simple as it can get. I'd do most of the same, if I'd ever have the car repainted - except the rear wiper delete.

Looking forward to seeing a full side shot. I'm getting ready to paint the wheels on my black shark and can't decide if I want to go that dark (it's a graphite color, right?) or with silver. How do you like the look of your wheels with the black car?

Thanks. I thought people would like it; real clean look and leaves the original lines alone.
The missing marker lights do give me a warning light, I haven't had time to deal with it yet...Dave C. will probably help me and he is great with wiring and electronics.
GTS mirrors are a whole other project (by next summer), and I'll probably stick to the original marker lenses.
Upcoming projects: pan gasket/MM, short shifter, maybe X pipe, GTS mirrors, some 17mm wheel spacers. It's already niiiiiice!!
Black wheels??? They are growing on me and other people tell me pretty often that they are cool. Silver is always nice. I went with "black chrome" (more of a metallic charcoal) because I thought you guys would get a kick out of it at 928 gatherings; I could have gone either black or silver.
Carl
Brendan: he used 1/8" aluminum and an epoxy that bonds to aluminum and steel. The toughest part is getting it so that it won't shrink and show through the paint. The bumper cover holes were done using pieces cut from other bumpers and plastic weld type bumper epoxy.

Very slick car, Carl.

Could always leave the side markers active. Put bulbs in them and face them
into the wheel wells. Keeps the bulb check system from goin beserk.
Be the ricer equivalent of undercar lights.
Black Chrome backlit wheels. Could you get UV/deep purple bulbs to light the wheel wells.

Ernest (NYC) Damn right rear marker light keeps dying.
