Thanks to all, I think i'm going down the 930 wheel route, does anyone have a picture of the side view of the wheel fitted? I'm curious as to how good a straight bolt on fit it is.
Hi Bert,

The Genuine Porsche 928 Sport Wheel (it only looks like a 930 wheel) that we sell is a factory Porsche part made for a 928 so it fits and installs just like your original wheel.

Bert,
>DR - are the dark blue wheels available?
We seem to have sold all of the Dk. Blue and Burgundy that Porsche had on hand in Germany. We have some of each color on active backorder and they could still come in, but no telling how long.
Dave,
>.. is it available with the badge, or did those guys just glue 356 hood badges on?
The Genuine Porsche one we sell (the only one made specifically for a 928) has the Porsche crest embossed in the leather. Some people have used the small 356 badges and attached them over the embossed crest.

Bert,
>What would be the difference?
Made exactly for a 928 by (for) Porsche, AND unlike the aftermarket replicas ours have the Porsche crest embossed in the leather (that is why they sell a crest to glue to the aftermarket versions.

DR - would I be right in assuming that most of the wheels that I could pick up in the UK with the crest 'stuck on' rather than embossed are non-genuine? eg:

I prefer the Porsche 930 Sport because it has the embossed crest, the last thing I'm wanting on my steering wheel is a chunk of metal. The padding on those is excellent and should my head crack into it I might get a concussion but at least it will be less likely to be split open from expossed metal.

Correct, only the genuine Porsche Steering Wheels have the Porsche crest embossed in the leather. Another "tip-off" is this statement from that website :
"BLACK LEATHER 350MM STEERING WHEEL , INC FITTING KIT -"
The phrase "Fitting Kit" means hub adapter. The Genuine Porsche version is made for a 928 and no adapter (Fitting Kit) is required.
In reality, both wheels are most likely made by the same manufacturer and only the Genuine Porsche version can have the Porsche crest. Plus, the version they make for Porsche has the proper hub hardware for the specified Porsche model pre-installed.
