Lance,
>our 79's usa has cis has 8.5-1 compression. hello "throw us a freakin bone here" lol.
As stated in my original post, the Euro S version is next (prototype parts are almost finished), then the L-Jet and finally the CIS version.. IF all goes well the Euro S and L-Jets could possibly be shipping before Christmas.. HO, HO HO! Once those are all sorted out the CIS development will be next.
BTW, the 80-82 L-Jets have 9-1 Compression and we are already planning an experiment to see just how high we can turn up the screws. Lessons learned from that will also give us some guidelines for the 8.5-1 78-79 and maybe we could throw you a BIG BONE..

Voytek,
>Dave, this looks like a work of art. It is pure pleasure to >just look at it.
Wow, thanks!
> Is there any chance this kit will be certified in CA for Smog Check Program?
Doubtful, but it would depend on popularity.
However, one of Andy's Supermodel kits just passed CA smog a few weeks ago with no problem. That could have been, luck or even a "fluke", especially as far as visual under hood inspection procedures.
> To take it off every two years would be rather >detrimental - we always butcher something when we do >such major job.
Actually once the kit is installed it would not be hard to go back to the original intake system. It is about the same work as removing and installing your stock intake except our SC/IC intake system is easier and less complex to install than the original intake.

That "Stealth" version looks awesome! And personally, I like the Porsche crest on the cover. Gives it that "Factory" look. If you do put something else there, please don't make it permanent - or at least easily removed. I can't wait...

The Covers will have our new SC logo on it in some sort of fashion (see below), but what you do with it after you get it is your business.

as Dave said, taking it off is a piece of cake. Especially with the pully set up Dave has. I imagine all you would have to do is keep your stock mandifold sitting in a box and toss it on. No pulleys to swap. Perhaps have an extra set of fuel rails with stock injectors ready to go as well.
Daves set up would swap out in half the time Andys original set up would.
Trust me, once youve driven one, every 2 yrs is MINOR, very minor, compared to the fun you will have in the preceding 2 yrs up to smog! Dont let that excuse hold you up, seriously.

Dave,
The black version is very, very nice and will be my choice. Will the intakes be fully black as well, including the clear filter covers? I have a feeling that the clear ones will get dirty and not look so great after a while. Just a thought.
Will "Logo Delete" be an option? I do not have anything against your logo but it kills the stealth.
I don't want to assume anything but . . . is a wide band O2 included? How about an AFM? What other guages? PSI of boost? Intercooler coolant or oil temp? What do you have in mind for guage mounting locations/setups? I expect it will be an equally artful design!!

Pity your California folks. When I took each of my 928s in, the inspector put his hand over the exhaust pipe exit, said "yeah, exhaust is coming out" - end of any emissions and exhaust testing. They do, though, check that the lights work and the horn honks. 5 minutes. $17.50. Once a year.
There are advantages to living in a small town in the Southwest...
Because in rural areas and definitely older cars there is no emissions or components testing or inspections, and there are no racing class restrictions that apply to a street car, in "theory", the fastest of any cars should be unlimited effort street cars as there are no limitations.
Good luck in CA. That stuff would drive me nuts!

Why not just make up a bunch of bogus stickers and look for dunderhead inspectors? (I do not worship rules of the regulators - as you may have figured).
Who knows what a Porsche 928 looks like under the hood anyway? Most wouldn't even know its a Porsche if it didn't say so on the rear bumper cover.
As for the "logo", I tend to not like any company names on show-components, just like I won't wear a T-shirt with logos (ie advertisements) being unwilling to be a walking billboard. Everyone in the 928 community will know where and how to find your set up - ours is a small community. Besides, many will want others people to think that it either is 1.) a Porsche built custom exotic supercharged 928 or 2.) they brilliantly fabricated up they system themselves and therefore have an extremely rare and wonderful Porsche. However, others like logos and put company stickers all over their cars, under the hood etc (Hooker Headers, STP, Holley, NoS or whatever). Having it removable would likely please all.

Three Wheelin'
Enjoy it while it lasts. California used to be cavilier like that as well and now we have rolling road tests and mandatory test only center requirements based on year of vehicle and other more random crap. CA is a pain in the butt.

Hi Tony,
Thanks!!
Flott,
>The black version is very, very nice and will be my choice.
Me too.
>Will the intakes be fully black as well,
That is the plan for the Stealth option.
> including the clear filter covers? I have a feeling that the >clear ones will get dirty and not look so great after a while.
The Air Filters cover will be available in clear and possibly also in smoke (which should give you the effect you desire).
>Just a thought.
..and a good one.
>Will "Logo Delete" be an option? I do not have anything >against your logo but it kills the stealth.
Sort of like getting Porsche to sell you a car with out any Porsche logos anywhere.. short answer is no, sorry. But what you do with it is up to you.
>I don't want to assume anything but . . . is a wide band O2 >included?
Wide band O2 will be optional additional cost above the standard A/F Gauge. Look of displays are identical.
> What other guages? PSI of boost?
Correct, vac/boost gauge is included.
> Intercooler coolant or oil temp?
Can be arranged, even EGT if desired.
> What do you have in mind for guage mounting >locations/setups?
>I expect it will be an equally artful design!!
So much so that I am not ready to release details yet. I am also surprised no one has asked yet... I will say that our gauges could be used almost anywhere without cutting holes or mods to the interior of your 928.
To give you an example, I am installing mine in my instrument cluster (when I get the time) and it should look like it came from the factory that way :-)
Another surprise is we are also planning to try and create custom mapped chip sets for our 32 Valve Supercharger kits that will be optimised for each specific 928 model. That will take a while and we will send these out to each Kit owner once it is done for their specific model. We also will have 928 specific programmers available for those who wish to optimise their chips to their individual 928s state of tune or mods (N/A or boosted).
Thanks!!

Pinch me - am I dreaming? Did I die? Is this heaven?
David, this sneak peek has simultaneously blown away more 928ers than anything else I have ever seen. Brilliant work!
Holy cow! Have we reached 928 eutopia? Between this and all of the many recent announcements from others, it sure seems like we have.
What a good day it is to be a 928 enthusiast!
Thanks!

As usual you're way ahead of me!
After dynoing the GT and watching a bunch of guys laptop tuning a Mustang on the dyno, it became obvious to me that any given kit, be it SC, turbo, X-over, cat back, headers, or whatever modification you can imagine is a "LUMP" designed and dynoed for a specific model, even a specific car. The question is not how much HP it produces, but how much HP it produces AT A GIVEN FUEL MIXTURE AT A GIVEN TIMING CURVE WITH A GIVEN SAFETY MARGIN.
Adding tuneability is the next logical step. My opinion is that a piggyback system is better than a range of preprogrammed chips, but it willrequire some hard wiring that not everyone will want to do, as well as a learning curve for application.
