Hey Curt,

The cam profiles have some noise creating differences. The hotter cams in the 85/86 create more noise than the S4 cams do even with the same exhaust. I have put the same exhaust on both an 86.5' and an S4, the S4 was considerably quieter. This has held true with a couple of different 86.5's and S4's.

Ah yes, didn't think about that. So is there a gain over the Test pipes with the X-pipe?

The car always gets comments like, "that thing sounds awesome" while at stoplights.
Thaere's a guy here in Michigan (Sharks) who is running the same/similar setup with just the resinators (i.e. no cats, and RMB) and that car sounds AWESOME! It's a can get a little loud, but not too bad. But whe he get's on it, it sounds friggen amazing!

Did I tell you how good it sounds? Simply amazing!

Yes there is a gain over the test pipe with a proper X. A completely different sound too.

$369.95 in aluminized mild steel with no cats. High flow 200cpi Metal Matrix cats are an additional $200 a set and HPC coating (guaranteed for life) is an additional $105. An install kit with new collector gaskets and quality hardware is $24.95.
