You could have taken out ove of his rear wheels and spun him and I bet the 928 would have taken him then!

That would be one to see on video.

Nice try.

Andrew;

If you gotta have your *** handed to you, what better than a Lambo...

My 89GT got ho'd by a WS6 once, I was in 5th gear he was in 3rd or 4th, we were headed home from 928ICOC with 2 weeks worth of luggage, etc... well, thats' my excuse anyway.

They need an emoticon of a dog with his tail between his legs.

Last weekend at the PCA party in Bellevue I watched a Lamborghini (Murcielago?) and a Ford GT pull out of the parking lot and blow through the gears. It's remarkable how different the engines sounded. Each had it's own beautiful voice.

To stay with any of these cars we will need to add forced induction and reduce weight (A=F/M).

Your hood looks like crap.

No loss in that loss...add a blower and it WILL be a differnt story. They have both the weight and power advantage on you, thats a tough battle to over come right there.

Theres a metallic orange one i see around here now and then. I just roll down my windows and shut the music off any time i see a Ferarri, Lambo or TT and just listen.

Get a NWA pass and come out to Sharktoberfast man!

I would be proud to get blown off the road by a Lambo! Maybe one day if I'm lucky!

Thanks for noticing the hood!

I'm telling you, when I say this thing was crisp, think of the most outrageous sportbike and multiply it by 5! It was pretty damn amazing to hear that engine.

Would love to go to Sharktoberfest, but my wife is mostly working weekends now with school in session. THe pass part is not the problem, it's not getting arrested for locking the kids in their rooms for a weekend! Maybe next time.

Saturday I was on a Home Depot run in the van, stopped at a light. A SC club was out for a drive, 5 or 6 Modenas and/or Testarossa I think, and a couple 911 turbos came from the right, turned onto our direction of travel and of course ran the gears. First time I ever heard a Ferrari live. They were gone in 20 seconds, I was breathless. It was like the air was electrified all around us.

I saw one of those lapping Summit Point's Shenadoah circuit a few months back. He was flying. He wasnt giving up to any of the Ferrraris out there, 'cept the 360 cup car.

I can remember back in the day, when seeing a Porsche, especially a 928 would make me feel like that.. Still does..

I saw a metallic orange Gallardo a year or so ago (riding somewhere with my parents), sunday traffic and he was crusing slow. A few weeks ago was (far) behind a Bentley Continental GT on I-80; undoubtably fast, though I hear their sound isn't terribly awe-inspiring. Not least was the Aston Martin DB9 that keeps going past my neighborhood (a very affluent gated community is next door), but again, I was too far away to hear.

Interesting Gallardo stuff. The crank is a flat plane throw which accounts for that crisp sound. Machined from a solid SS billet taking about 30 hours of mill time. It's a legacy design from the 3 litre Jalpa engine, with two more holes and a whole lot of tweaking. 90 degree V-10 with variable intake geometry, similar to the flappy idea of the S4, but more complex. Also helps the crackling sound. Offset crankpins, dry sump, low friction surfaces, etc.

Viscous all wheel drive, traction control, paddle shift, etc. Point and shoot. I'd take one but it's kinda pricey. No shame in having your hat handed to you from that Italian. They approach the magical 200MPH barrier with all kinds of aero tricks. The car changes shape as it goes faster. The big brother Merc gets over the 200 barrier and also changes shape as you speed up. Folding mirrors, movable spoilers, air ducts, it's like a swing wing fighter on the ground.
