Default turbocharged 928 (32v) just dynoed...(first dyno)

No stories, just 4.5psi, no intercooling, 80 degrees or so. this was my 4th run after a few fuel adjustments. PM me for more information (or my site) if you're curious, I'm "almost" a sponsor....just waiting (12 days now) on my processing.

FANTASTIC! If you can clean-up the A/F a bit, it'll be even better.

Hey, good show here. Nice torque numbers as one would expect. Looks like a pretty good match on the turbo as well. These numbers match what my Callaway 4.5 makes on 12 psig. Those heads are pretty darn nice, eh? Tip in torque must be really nice. No doubt this car will have serious potential with more boost and an intercooler. Hopefully you left some overhead room in the turbo selection to really crack it open.

Are you running a RRFPR on this setup? The fuel curve would indicate this, but I'd like to know.

I can't get started soon enough on my new twin build! Have dream, will fabricate...

I"m making custom chips for my turbo kits (& NA chips as well) as the '85-86 cars have a pretty crappy curve, and unfortunately, AA's chips just highlight the flaws. Both dyno's above have AA's chips installed, so the two dyno's though months apart reflect the same software, just the addition of the turbo @ 4.5psi. I'll be upping the compressor wheel next week after my 1/4 mile run on wednesday night. I already have serious traction issues with the torque. fun!

Great start, Mark. And at only 4.5psi. How high are you going to go before the wastegates kick in?

Also, on the Third Coast Sharkfest thread you mentioned getting ready for Porschedillo this weekend. Are you going to be able to make it? I'd really like to see what you've done.

Very nice start! I'm not used to seeing torque #'s greater than the HP #'s though. What would you attribute this to, Mark? Keep up the good work!

That's a common trait on turbo cars.

That's some pretty impressive power! Are those corrected numbers?

Why? Does it indicate an under-sized turbo?

No, it indicates power completely disproportionate to the RPM range...which a turbo will give ya.

Hmmm. I thought HP=torque X RPM.

It'd be sweet if you could get the boost pressure up on that graph too, i'm really curious as to what its doing.

It does.

What a properly mate turbo does is increase airflow in the existing rpm range, which increases torque, but not RPM potential.

The math will still work out if you apply the formula to it.

I'll be at Porschedillo showing the 928, & will give rides afterwards if asked. 4.5 psi was read, though it was supposed to run 5.83 according to Tial: I attribute this loss with a few piece of factory vacuum line remaining. I'll fix this before I go to the 1/4 mile track on Wednesday.
