Katrina got mine!
I finally got in touch with the guy who was in the process of painting my car. The area of Kenner where the car was took on 2.8 feet of water. The water line on the door is 3" above the door bumper rail. There is a green alge inside growing on the seats, shift ****, steering wheel and seats................................................................... ........................................................................ ...................................................... I think I need a beer!

Sorry to hear the news. I hope your back behind the wheel of your shark, or perhaps another one, soon. If you can save the electrical harnesses along the floor and the fuse box, is she salvageable? It would be a shame to lose a '90 model, especially a blue one (I have not seen any with that color scheme).

That's awaful to hear! After Jessa's accident, I think I'll leave my 928 flag on half mast for another day to honor your shark appropriately. Hope you find another love in the future!

Doesn't 928Specialists sell a harness? Should be an easy swap. The rest of the electricals though will likely always be sketchy. People drive in water every day so things do get wet. Lets just hope that it wasnt a u-boat for long.

sorry to hear about your loss... this sucks
one less 928 on the road. If you feel like you're up for it, i know that the insurance is going to total it, but you can get it from them at like very little $$$. The car is galvenized and aluminum. Strip it down to pieces, and rebuild a brand new one.

A few years ago, I met a man with a Ferrari California convertible. A million dollar car, and there he was at the coffee shop. He told me that he was very fortunate to have it. I asked him if it was his first Ferrari and he said no, but he had lost the others when his house burned down, and this was his ''new'' one.

Hi there.
Th shop can't be held liable for a flood. It is as if the car were outside and an hailstorm occured. Not their problem. Your car insurance should cover it, however. I would take the insurance check and run. Let them sell it at auction.

When I looked at it last week, all I could think was "who's the U-Boat commander?". I have liability only so no insurance. FEMA may help a little but nothing even close. I was hoping that the shop that it was in would pay for it via. insurance but according to fst951 that's not true, so............... Hi Ho- Hi Ho..................... Maybe I can start a hurricane Katrina fund.......... and instead of sending cash you can send parts!

Sorry; that's a real bummer. Unfortunately, if it were almost any other circumstance that your car was damaged while in the garage, the garage WOULD be liable (and would pay, assuming they had adequate insurance). However, "Acts of God" are specifically excluded and the burden rests upon you; too bad you only had liability. However, I'd let the garage owner tell you that he's not going to pay first. I'm up here in Monroe, so if I can help, I'll do anything I can.
