Shifter Plate Removal Question
I am getting a tip shifter with full boot from Jager and will have to remove the plastic shifter plate from the console. Is there anything more than just prying
it out to remove it? I cannot break it as I will be reinstalling it once the
new shifter and boot are in place. Any advice would be appreciated.

There are two lock down levers under the cover. If you do not release them, you will break them off removing the plate from above. After releasing them, you still do a little prying under the rear driver side edge to get the plate out.
Two ways to do this.
1)Take off the driver side carpet panel on the console (two screws). Feel under the forward and rear ends of the shifter plate and you will locate two levers/latches that swing away to release the plate.
2) The way described in the WSM which works from above instead.
Here are some pics.

The following shows the view from above. From it you can see that the levers can be accessed from above. After removing the boot, pushing the shifter to one end and them the other, the latches can be accessed.
