Test Pipe (H-Pipe) Install Question
Well, after installing the H-Pipe I'm getting leaks around where the pipes slide into the aft stock pipes. The H-pipes are smaller in diameter which was much to my surprise Not sure why they were made that way!!
What have previous folks done to make a good seal between the test pipes and stock pipes? Without welding or other permanent repairs, I may need to re-install the CATS for SMOG

I made some short cuts into the recieving pipe so it could be compressed just a bit. Wasn't very successful- had to go to the torch. I was using the cheap Bursch derived test pipe, an H not one of the vensor's X pipes. I got a good patina of surface rust pretty quickly. I'd really suggest upgrading to one of the X designs.
P.S- as long as your posting about it, any driving impressions for HP/Tq?

I just pushed the rear pipes a little father forward to seat in all of the way. I don't think they are smaller dia. just flared on the ends to fit over the rears. May looklike its smaller, but I bet the ID is the same.

ee. I think if it were me and if it fit my first alternative would be dual in/dual out Flowmaster Delta 40 (just based on the way it tempers/deepens exhaust) followed by Borla XR-1, Followed by Stainless Specialties or Stainless Works 'glass packs'. The latter are built in stainless and will last and are packed with ceramic fibers, rather than fiberglass. But if its that Bursch pipe, the higher caliber materials may not be much of a concern.
Jeez, that brings up a painful memory..I had Stainless Specialites make me a custom dual in/dual out muffler, complete with a fitting for an O2 sensor (to drive a guage) to go between my bursch pipe and dual-pipe center section. Never did install it. I really have to get E-Bay-n.

This might be of interest too- you would need to lose the "H" because this has an internal 'X' (see product "Note" or maanufactuerer's web page). Certainly not as efficient as the engineered X pipes, but must be an improvement over cats and probably an improvement of the H pipe. Probably doesn't squash a great deal of the noise either..but its all tradeoffs...

Seems cool My performance has definately improved after removing the CATS! My top end used to be forever to reach, now it comes a lot faster I think the CATS were getting clogged.
