Question Headlights rub fender. Left one needs to be re-centered

Driver’s side headlight assembly will not rotate up. The shroud is making contact with the fender on the lower outside quadrant.

How do I make this re-adjustment? What is the best direction to approach this problem, i.e.: is this best done from the wheel well?

I can coax the light out of the recess and if I remove the shroud the mechanism cycles the assembly correctly.

Thanks for you input
Bob

You will find the side ways adjustment under the hood next to the edge of the fender. The arm which raises and lowers the light has two bolts that must be loostened to allow sideways movement. The bolt heads are 10mm, as are the nuts on the other end. There is not much adjustment available here. Perhaps 10mm max. My pass side light was not centered in the opening on my 84' and it was at max adjustment and needed to move over more. I ended up elongating the bolt holes with a die grinder to allow more movement. Looks perfect now.

I just noticed you said drivers side. It is a challange to get the bolts out on this side because of the headlight motor. Hopefully you can get what you need by just loostening the bolts.

Thank you for pointing out that thread (I did look, but ...).

Work like a champ. 10 minutes!

Now, I have lights.
