BTW, I may be trying to pull the hall sensor this weekend. The connector is toast, so I may solder it direct, and lengthen the leads some to make it more accesible.
The issue is shielding. You will need to figure out a way to extend the shielding.

Glad you said that Dave, before I just jumped in with both feet. I didn't realize that they were shielded. Thanks!!!!!!!

If you do go the route of extending the harness, after you are done, I suggest driving the car for at least a few hours then getting 'hold of a Spanner or Hammer to see if the EZK/LH has registered a fault against the Hall sensor. (As a double-check of your wiring...)

Chris it looks like you have had some good advice, I would just like to add this, anybody putting back the intank pump please put "never seize" on the threads, I had one gall on me once and that can be very expensive. You can avoid this by a simple application of never seize. I got lucky and avoided replacing the tank, for once I was lucky, it could have been very ugly.
