A '95 GTS for *$8300* ...
I was scrolling some local classifieds when *Believe it or not* I saw the one-liner add. This black AT 2-owner car has 140k km (87k mi) on it, and owner will let go for this price !! I saw the add by chanse, thought the price must be wrong for sure, so what did I do - if not passing it onto my friend who just totalled his S4 ... Fair enough he's still in recovery since the injury, so I felt bad for the fella ... Anyway he called the owner, turns out the car is in good condition but needs light cosmetic work on the interior. Good deals can still be had ...!!

What luck!
Cool, the karma falls on a person who needs it.
I hope this isn't a new trend. Because if I see Heinrich, Andrew, HP and the rest of the crew get a GTS for the price of a boob job. You know another fatiwah is just around the corner.

My friend's working on closing the deal (if he gets to it in time). Yes it appears to be the real thing, the independent specialist who did the PPI said it was the strongest pulling 928 he's tried, and nothing was reported as wrong mechanically. However cosmetically it's bit of a dog, it needs a re-spray and some re-upholstry, but for that price one can live with it. I'll update when/if the deal's done.

I hope the mechanic who did the PPI wasn't a friend of the guy trying to sell it. Hate to sound negative or seem like I'm raining on your parade, but with a deal like that I'd consider all possiblities. Hope your friend is doing better and good luck with the car!!

In Oman, UAE and middle east in general I bet it's little different with these used cars than in western world. Locals might not see same potential in worn out old car as we see.

I would believe it. Older cars no matter what they are back in the Middle East are not worth much and people do not associate anything to them (yes even my dear 928). The majority of the cars bought there end up spending their life after 2 years in a garage rotting away and drying out. If you end up with a car being sold, it would have no value at all... and to be honest, you will need to restore it from scratch. As far as the body and interior, think 45 degrees (celcius) and in Oman, add high humidity... so the car is trash. i would pick an S4 or GT in Saudi Arabia for no more than $5-8k, and that is being nice considering that even the dealer will not be able to maintain it and restore it due to lack of technical expertise with those cars at all. Trust me, i know. Many of my friends owned and still own their 928s back there and drive them regularly, but they complain non top about the BS at the dealer.
