These have same problem as Michelin TRX tires had in seventies and eighties. They require different wheels than what we all have now. Since there isn't ready market where to install these things they will not take off easily. TRX were installed into some models at the factory by BMW and Ferrari for example yet they didn't gain enough momentum to stay alive. What was good about them was that they allowed wider contact pattern compared to wheel width. Now everyone hates them as there are no real options for rubber. Owner has two choices, buy expensive TRX tires with outdated thread pattern from Michelin or expensive wheels and rubber from somewhere.

Right Jim, no ability to adjust contact patch.

IMHO the target market is people who really don't care much about getting that last little bit of performance, and/or are too stupid/lazy to check tire pressure.

The addition of a sidewall answers my first questions of debris and balancing issues.

The ability to adjust air pressure is big for performance drivers, but also for adjusting to different weight loads in a vehicle.

Finally, this design seems to severely limit the rim size, and thus, the brake size.

I'll pass for now.
