Gordon, should we assume that you are associated with the organizations featured on the web sites in your sig?

If so, I notice that the injector services include replacement of the o-rings. Can you comment on if Injector Services can or does replace the o-rings of 928 injectors with the correct Porsche-only parts or with the undersized Bosch parts? And, since I would always want the correct-sized o-rings, what the up-charge would be for the 928-specific o-rings?

Its the back flushing thats important, esp for the CIS ones, where the pintle needs to be held open mechanically while you do it, which is a bit tricky.

I've cleaned and tested for a conical spray pattern by using WD-40, carb cleaner, or gas: Fill a short length of tygon tube on the injector inlet with WD-40 - and connect an air supply regulated to the rails lowest operating pressure ( still works well as low as 15psi too).
With a spare injector plug, connect to a fused 12v source with a momentary contact switch. When connected and powered, tap and release the switch - in a spark free , ventilated area.
If the injector is OK, a perfect conical spray pattern will be noted. If not, go to the carb cleaner, and reverse the tubing to the orifice end for a back flush.
Fancy? - no ... works? - yes .... especially if living in the hinterland where injectors are sold at full retail, and cleaning off the vehicle does not exist.
( Motorvac style injector cleaning when installed is a reasonable option).

dave:

when i got my injectors back from injector services/witchhunter, the o-ring appeared a slight bit larger than the o-rings i purchased from 928 specialists. they do not include the larger o-ring on the body. i would just order all of them from a porsche parts dealer, i don't think they were that expensive.

Who would you suggest to have the injector flow checked and balanced? Thanks
