Default Pony Express 130 ORR

Hello All,

Looks like a busy weekend for NorCal 928 owners. Besides the
two track events, Tim D, Paul M, and I are heading off to the
Pony Express 130 in Battle Mt, Nevada. The Open Road Race
will be held on Sunday , practice is on Friday, and the Car Show
on Saturday.

I'll be entering the 160 mph class again, hopefully I won't run
out of gas during the first leg. I was getting 4 mpg on the first
leg of the Gambler's Run last month. The first leg of the Pony
is 84 miles, so that'd be 21 gallons. I have a 22 gallon fuel cell
so it'll be close. The new external fuel sump that Marc T just
added should help.

I will be navigating for Roland in the Ruf, also in the 160 mph class.

Go guys. Sorry I can't make it this time. Report back ASAP.

Anders, that should be enough speed to satisfy you, considering you have to go through the twisty gap area twice! Roland is going to have to hit 180 at stretches. Same for George.

Good luck to everyone,

Bill,

Roland can get his car teched for 200, so he may be going more then 180 mph...
Should be fun Anders. I guess that makes 5 cars in the 160 class.

We're leaving from Tahoe around noon. Going to run the 140 mph class this time and GS upper next year. It's really nice when your wife is totally into ORR. I'll see every body at the Blender Party. Is anyone going on the Brothel tour? Sounds like fun, I think we will go just for the H*ll of it. GO TEAM PORSCHE

Have a safe and successful weekend everybody. I expect George to update us with the race results as soon as possible , and I expect Anders to update us on the Brothel Tour as soon as possible (Tim wasn't kidding, there really is a Brothel Tour planned )

George:

Egad! I didn't realize the Roland's Ruf was THAT serious of a speed demon. At least if he tech's 200 he probably won't get DQ'd this time. Anders, stay away from the brothel tour - you need to save yourself for the run in Roland's Ruf.

I figured you guys were going to have to average close to 175 anywhere outside the "gap" in order to hit 160 average overall, but you'll have to keep an egg between your foot and the go pedal so you don't run out of gas.

Have a great time.

Susan,

I talked to Paul and Tammy today after practice. I think they are going to move a division
from Touring to Grand Touring. Tammy decided 110 was too boring and it was too easy
to break tech...
