I picked up a set of the 996 5-spoke lightweights seen in the photo. 8 and 10 x 18. Love the looks and I think that the 18 inch size works the best on the car and represents proportional perfection.
Running Bridgestone S03's, 225/40 F and 285/30 R. Much quieter than the S01's I had on the stock C2 wheels, ride is a bit less harsh despite the lower profile-possibly due to softer compound, and stick like glue. Cannot comment on wet weather performance as the car has not seen rain.
Rubbing with the above combo does not seem to be an issue.
When did you get those? It wasn't recent was it, because I issued an Amityville Fatiwah curse on all GTS/cup rims sold here without me, since its long past my turn to get some.
'Bout a year ago, from a fellow rennlister (What a guy!) And that price included practically brand new rubber. 205's in front (a bit skinny) and 275's in the back. Love them! Looks like I made it just before you issued the curse.
OH..is this the torture Tom with tales of cheap cup IIs''' hahaha..
bought a set from a rennlister a few years back...cup IIs 7 and 9s with good tires and even 21mm spacers for the rear...at $500 for the set. Of course..DHL ended up losing the tires somewhere...but those rims and spacers now reside on Adam B's 88 S4...so no biggie..

Well good for you.
Ya, made it in before the curse, now if you have constant stomach pains, diahrea, always cold, electronic malfunctions left and right, blood dripping from the walls, house telling you to STFU or get out. Then its all happenstance, unless somebody put a Rhode Island curse on your rims that you are unaware of.
If you feel you have the curse besides Amityville or other rim Fatiwahs you're paranoid about. The only way to break it, is to sell those rims dirt cheap to a rennlister like me. And I'm talking dirt *** cheap like the wife is filing for divorce so you are selling everything so cheap Bigs goes 'God damn!, even I don't sell that low'.
