Randy don't slip any GHB into Stigs drink to get him laid, let him learn the hard way.

I here Visine in a drink will make a fellow flip off a dancing stage on to their head...

California?? Bummer, dude.
Sounds like fun, but WAAAAAAY too far away for anyone around here to drive to. We need something like this for the rest of us who live in the South. Why not Texas, Missouri or Tennessee?

I wanna go sooo bad. But I wanna take my car. I came close to making the Mardi Gras thing but missed it by one day. Listen to this one... I was in a meeting the other day and they were talking about rail heading a bunch of equipment out to California and I ask if we could ship personal items. Everyone gave me the look. I don't know, something about misappropriation of Govt. funds or something. Maybe I'll drive her out to the air field and see if I can fly her out there. What!?!

Folks from all over manage to make it to Sharktoberfest. Most bring their cars, but that's not a deal-breaker for those in the outer reaches of civilization. In the fun drive films, you never see the Chevy Malibu rental cars, but thye are there... back there someplace.

As much as we'd love to have a record-beating car count, these events are about the people. There are several airports in easy distance of the event. People do fly in. No, they don't rent 928's at the Hertz counters at any of those airports.

Get your reservations booked for the flight! Make it a party/vacation week. There's rumored to be a mouse factory down the road, a mile or two of beaces nearby, plenty to do the rest of the week.

Well......Lorelei is not 100% gung ho on the idea of driving to LA the day after our wedding for the event. Some excuse about ditching our friends and family that are flying out there. I'm sure they have stuff they want to do while in Vegas that does not involve us.

She really didn't like the idea of me going to the event solo (I cannot image why).

I'll keep working on her. How long is the drive from Vegas to 928 International?

Hacker the key to a successful marriage involves managing expectations ... the less they expect the better. So abandon your new wife on your honeymoon, family, and friends and come to Sharktoberfest and after that you probably can get away with most anything ...or will be single Besides Sharktoberfest only happens one weekend per year, people get married 365 days a year. I just booked a round trip flight Jet Blue Long Beach to Vegas for my wife to visit a friend for less than $90.

Unfortunately, I have limited vacation time and according to mapquest, it would take me 23 hours and 18 minutes to drive there. That's two days there and two days back = 4 days just driving to/from. No offense, but if I went to a 928 event, I would have to drive. To me, that would be about half the motivation to go.

I'll just have to wait for a 928 event here in the South...
I'm sure there will be plenty of you with cameras, so I can relish in the photos from the event...

Kelly you know you have already seen your 928 this is an opportunity to see 200 plus OTHER 928s plus meet a whole bunch of interesting people. I flew to DC for one of the Frenzy meets had a great time managed to catch rides with others was even offered cars to drive for the track day ,I declined ! Tony Harkin has attended several get togethers without his 928 ,some even doubted that he owned one I understand the issues of time and or $$ ,job commitments I hope you can make it to some events closer to you it really is quite nice to be surrounded by people who understand the attraction of the 928 and think that buying a new set a wheels which cost more than your first car is a GOOD IDEA !

It would be nice if the US got on the "train" and had an auto train like the European countries. The only auto train that runs in the US is between the Carolina's and Florida. Considering todays gas prices, it would only make sense that AMTRAK get off the Sh***er and introduce a few other auto trains around the country. I know I would certainly attend more events myself!

Jim is right though, there are other folks that would gladly let you ride shot gun or even drive! Being a passenger in a 928 is not necessarily a bad thing!

Considering the sorry state of affairs that Amtrak is in, I wouldn't let my car get within 500 feet of an Amtrak train.

Hacker, blow off the wedding and go to Sharktoberfest. You can get married some other time.

Have you met my fiance?

This was after she plugged a few dozen rounds within a 6 inch spread, dead center on the target - first time with a gun
