Default Back Again......

Haven't had a chance to work on the car...a 10 hr trip to Chicago (should be 8 hrs from here, but a Traffic accident backed up I-80 for about 7 miles), and 14 hrs back--OK, so I made a stop to load a Grill (45 minutes the wrong way to get it), and 1 1/2 hrs spent in a driveway taking a bumper off a car, and attaching a tow bar to tow it back to Chicago--however I am now the proud owner of a second BMW E30 (1987 325es Manual, 139k miles, minor oil leak, shift linkage problem, but for $300, not a bad deal)--and this car will go to my Brother for him to work on...

However, in the intervening while (and with a couple of Warsteiners to lubricate the memory), I thought about the starting issues---the Car jumped and started fine. Ran about 5 minutes.

The Moment the Hatch was closed, it stalled out.

Did it twice on the closing of the hatch.

Got a brief start when I played with the wires to the right of the fuse/relay panel.

Now, I still have the fuse/relay panel out (I have a replacement coming, just for the possibility of the PO doing some mucking about...).

Is it possible the Alarm is the issue? If it faults from the closing of the hatch, doesn't it shut off power to the Fuel Pump? Relays did seem to work, jumping the EFI and Fuel Pump relays (30 to 87(s), I believe) didn't help...

I believe there is a way to jump the Z plug connector, correct? Is there a way to permanantly disable the alarm (will just disconnecting the box to the right of the fuse panel work, or will that leave an open circuit that will have the same problems

Any Thoughts??

Thanks!!
