Bill;

Thats tech session, NOT torture session. And besides, you've been threatening to do that job since March...

Scott, well, March seemed like a good time, but then I realized it's the really tough part of "tax season", the time of year when I get to work....something like 90 hours a week. So, I've spent the summer tracking down and fixing a/c and cooling fan problems, plus some coolant leaks. All's fine now and I thought some love with the motor mounts might be in order. Who knows, I might learn some new cuss words. Or teach some

Thumbs up Ill be there!

Hi All,

New member here. Yes, I know, dont bash me yet, Im still learning this forums stuff! ;-}

Ill be there! I cant wait to see some of your 28's!! I dont own one yet, but Im shopping for a decent deal on one. Ive wanted one since I was in high school and now Im on a mission, 17 years later! Unfortunately the pockets are fairly shallow! >-(

I plan to go to as many of these shows as I can until I can afford an older model. Ill be at the show this Sunday at Nottoway park if anyone else is going. Id appreciate a guide, hint hint!

Im still learning as to which model I can afford. Id love an S4 but im pretty sure I cant get over $10K. Hopefully Ill learn enough at these couple shows to narrow what I can afford down.

Anyway. If anyone is interested, I can arrange for about 6 people to stay at my house, VERY close to these events. I live in Great Falls, VA. 10 minutes away. I have several bed rooms available if needed, although I assume most Porsche owners are well paid and dont need any help, hotel rooms may fill or not allow sharks in their rooms, whatever! My offer is up for your taking, email if needed.

PS. If you have or know of a 928 that needs a new garage, SET ME UP!!!

I didn't know that there was anybody in Great Falls with shallow pockets!
Your idea of going to these 928 get-togethers to learn about the car before you buy is the way to go. Way better than jumping on what seems to be a good deal on a fixer-upper that's within your means at the time.

You'll find that the 928 community is a friendly one, and you'll get some of the best advice from some seasoned gurus if you float around enough. The least thing that you will get out of these get-togethers is what to look for in when buying a 928.

J.P., awesome! Thanks for the kind help! BTW, I kinda live in the slums of great falls! hee hee. Your pretty close, just across the river! Sweet shot of the speedster on the KLR too!

I tell ya the truth, its really, REALLY hard to not just get one. Im really thinking about the $6500 one on the classifieds page. But its an auto with 185K! Anyone know that 28 or the previous owner? I have one of those wild hair things and its killing me not to just jump in!

BUT! If you wanna work something out with someone who dreams of a nice 91 GT, Id go for it right now.... WOW, dream ride!!

So.. question? What are my chances of finding a running, 5-speed, S4 (or GT, GTS for that matter) for under 10K?

Anyone, anyone?

I'm really looking forward to the Frenzy. Even in this congested part of the country I go for many weeks without seeing another shark. I've only driven one other (a very slow, neglected s4 for sale on a used car lot). I can't wait to see other interiors, hear other exhaust systems, soak up tips/tricks, etc.

Yes, the final schedule should be out anytime now. I'll ask Larry if it's done.
