Oil Drain Plug Picture
This is what my oil drain plug looks like.
Luckily its one of the gearbox drain plugs, both of which looked the same. If it had been the engine drain plug I would have been very very upset.
The old oil, while not exactly sludge, was so full of metal that it looked like dark grey metalic paint. I guess this is where my third gear dog teeth ended up.
With new fully synthetic gear oil the box is much quicker, especially when cold, and the weak 3rd gear is noticeably better.
