Default Shots from my first DE with the 79

These are a bit old (Memorial PCA Weekend). Right now she's at the body shop having the fenders painted. Bigs, this is the car your wheels will be going on.
I have video from this event, still working on editing it, I'm new to video editing. This car has straight pipes off the headers, sounds sweet, a lot of fun to run in traffic through underpasses

That looks sweet and like a ton of fun. I've even started thinking I should sell me S4 to get a more practical daily driver and then get an OB to have fun on the weekends with. Love the look of that car.

Straight pipes off headers? Can you even hear yourself think? . . .

I said, "CAN YOU EVEN HEAR YOUR SELF THINK!" (I'm assuming you're nearly deaf now)

I drove my car with open headers once & I needed ear plugs just to survive.

Beautiful car!

Open headers or with a complete exhaust going out the back? I'm sure there would be a huge difference.
My system has an adjustable muffler in the place of the huge stock rear muffler. It goes from a bit louder than stock to wide open, adjustable in the cabin.
At WOT its music to my ears and not that loud in the cockpit. Going up the hill at RA with the wall a few feet from the track, it really echo's. One thing is for sure, you will know if I'm catching you!

I cannot wait to see my car later this week with fresh paint on the front fenders. I also put the H4's from Mark A on this car, last step will be a complete lower spoiler, and the wheels from bigs.

Mine has an RMB. Seems loud on the street. At the last DE that my teenager was at, he was complaining that he could hardly hear my car from the grandstand. Compared to all of the other cars with open exhaust, just the cats and the resonators actually muffle quite a bit.

Nice ride. Congrats. Any interesting reactions to seeing a 928 on the track?

Well a picture is worth 1000 words:

So headers into whatever pipe was left. I had to buy earplugs from the Laguna Seca souveneir shop just for the drive home. I'm sure a longer pipe would have helped, but I thought you meant you had NO muffler when you said "straight pipe".

You're lucky to have Road America in your backyard. I'd love to drive that track one day . . .

I was one of 3 this event, there are a number of 928's that are regulars at Road America. I think every 911 was shocked I passed them. I had one 968 that refused to let me by for about 3 laps (long time at RA), eventually he must have gotten the hint and waved me by.

Since I'm in the novice group, people commented that when my group left the paddok everyone knew when I was up from the noise.
Jean-Louis has one sweet sounding 928 as well. His car sounds like an F1 car compared to any other 928 I've heard at the track. He was also running this event.

Hopefully I'll have the video ready for upload this week. Right now the files are huge.

With the valve open there is no muffler, it closes the door to the muffler chamber and its a straight pipe to the headers out the back.

RA is why I have yet to move out of Wisconsin. I spend about 15+ weekends there.
