Default MY 82 Redundant connector

I am doing some work on my 82 Weissach and noticed this connector.
Does anyone know what it is for?
The wire runs into the main harness.
I checked my 82 Euro and it does not have the same connector.
Thanks,
Roger

My '82 has the same connector - not connected to anything either - if it's any relief to you.

Victor,
That makes me feel better that I was not missing something.

Cool

Roger,
Same connector resides under Pattycakes 'The Wunder Weissach' hood.
When I finally get off my butt and thumb thru the WSM's, or, trace the bundle I'll let you know.
If I may be so bold? What's your VIN on the Weissach?
I've been tracking the numbers for years. Some are seqential while others look like the chassis was just yanked off the production line for the Weissach makeover. Unfortuneatly, my daughter, Kay , trashed both home PC's with her AOL crap and since I wasn't bright enough to back-up everything got wiped to reload the OS.

I have the same (unconnected) connector on my '82. I asked "Lucky" Ekman if he knew what it was at Devek Days a couple of years ago, and he didn't know what it was for either!

I assume it must be some sort of port to connect test equipment, but that's only a guess.
