Default How much time/$ to replace all vacuum hoses?

It seems I have so many vacuum leaks I'm considering doing/having done replacing all vacuum hoses and just be done with it. How much am I looking at timewise/dollarwise? Has anyone seen those 'enhanced' vacuum hoses on Ebay with the thicker diameter wall?

I just did this on my 86.5....and if you have everything you need...and have had it apart before...give yourself a day to get it done. You have to pull the intake to do it right, and then you will probably need a new 7 way splitter at the rear of the intake, and probably should replece the valve cover breather hoses, and idle stabilizer to throtle body hose as well while you have it dismantled to that degree. The AC vacuum hoses are a rigid walled, color coded assortment, and probably wont need replacement, (with the possible exception of the rubber "elbows" at the solenoid manifold, and vacuum actuators, but you can, and should, (pre-order) all needed pieces from one of the big three prior to disassembly. This will go a long way to minimize "downtime"...BTW...if you do this right...you won't need new intake manifold gaskets. They tend to be just fine for re-useif you do it right.

PS..in terms of cash outlay...without the intake gaskets, and the items I mentioned above, the whole job is less than $100 (thats with your labor !!!)

Quick Question. When you say "pull the Intake" do you mean just the plenum that those 8 runners attach to or the whole thing, runners and all. If just the plenum, do those rubber tubes just slide back over the intake runners to allow the removal of the plenum?

The 3.5 is perfect for most of it, you can reuse your stock splitters all of mine were fine. I replaced some of the elbows though, and used short pieces of the stock vacuum lines to connect the silicone hose to the splitters and elbows.

When I said "pull the intake"... I pulled the entire assembly (not in 1 piece though)...right down to the exposed throttle body.. This way all connections are clearly visible and accessible, and like I said...I did not need to replace the intake manifold to cylinder head gaskets. They cam off intact with the intake.

Welcome...but I should have said the intake gaskets came off intact with the intake manifold, in 4 pieces... the large "T" shaped center piece doesn't connect to the cylinder heads....just to the boot at the top of the throttle body....
