I got out in 1990.

Once a nasty assed leg, always a nasty assed leg.

Hey Sterling, I did not know you served! Man you continue to impress me each time I cross your path.

Hickam AFB in Hawaii... VACATION! That's not even fair. I was on MCAS Kaneohe (now MCB Hawaii), 1st Marine Brigade, Marine Aircraft Group 24, HMH-463 "The Flying Pegasus"...man that was work!

I spent a couple of months on Barking Sands building the Mk 211 Missile Simulator for the Navy in 03', tough job. It almost made up for the years I spent in the Air Force at Minot, N.D. but not quite. Kauai' was a really nice place to visit but I had "rock fever" so bad after 2 months I had to come back and take my 928 for a drive then I was OK for another trip about 10 days later.

Were you heading to Pensacola or have you already completed Flight Physiology-W/S?

Sadly the USMCs large helo fleet is pretty whooped. How many hours did your Stallion have on it Nutz?

I flew Alpha's and Delta's which is probably a fairly accurate statement as it relates to those but Echo's (Super Stallions) are relatively new and strong. They are the flying Work Horse of today's Marine Corps.

CH-53Es are Baaaaaaaaad mothers, extremely powerful beasts.

I rode in a couple Air force MH-53 Pave Lows when i was in. Very spacious interior, never been in a USMC CH model though.

The Ch-46s are the really old birds. Some of those bad boys are over 40 years old, and it doesn't look like their replacement will ever work right....not even at $110 million a pop.
