No doubt Jim, I have been destroyed by a WRX in my 85 928 and 993, followed closely by a WRX in my 996, and impressed by the nerve of a driver in a WRX while in my 996 Twin Turbo.

Make no mistake about it the WRX can embarrass you if you get cocky in a Porsche.

All the ones I've listed were from around 70mph and up.

Except, I spanked the Eclipse first on the highway then 2 min later from a rolling (20mph) start at the next off ramp.... That one was really embarasing, he had his g/f whit him. He was so sure he can take me on the rolling start, but that quicly went away as I started pulling away on him in 2nd. All I could hear was his blow off valve releasing as he was shifting. At the next light he stayed back

The SC install is almost complete. The FMU I bought from a fellow rennlister came in last week. I'll be installing it this week. I'm waiting on the 3.25" - 2.5" silicone reducer to come in.

I did take her out for a few runs and she is FAST. The nice thing about the centrifugal SC is that the power comes on gradually. So traction problems are almost not existent. Too bad I forgot to torque the crank bolt to the proper spec and ended up loosing it on the way home. I was close enough to make it home on battery power alone. Bought a second one from a local Porsche wrecker for $20 This time it's going on with RED Locktite too. I've used the blue one before.

At first I tought I was not going to get him, but when the rpm got to about 3500 + I was realy gaining, gaining, gone...I almost gave up at first cause he was sliping away. Good thing I did not give up, because this car is a monster at 4-5-6K rpm. This mustang was not a piece of s$%t, mags, spoiler kit, clean car. I guess he wanted to test a porsche....

btw, I'm not the type to do those "thing" but I needed to know what a 5.0 could do from near stand still. On the highway 100kph and up, they should be real easy to kill - non moded Stang - that is.

Remember........ alot of the 5.0 Mustangas are not stock. Actually, I don't think any of the older 5 litre Mustangs are stock anymore.

I love to munch on Must-nags they are an easy kill... I've thrashed them light to light and smoked them through gears...they always seem to have GF's in the passenger seat too and a pissed off driver that uses those infamous words "Lets try again,,, I bet I smoke you this time!" Ya, know that's another Must-Nags always have- a driver with the nerve to ask for another chance at getting his *** whipped!

If my buddies are any indicator, you are absolutely correct.

Hell, some of them are stupid fast, but it's always 0-100 fast because they gear the hell out of them.

100 up most stangs, even heavily modified, are at a severe disadvantadge.

I've been spanked by a couple of them too(including a mere 1 car length when the dude had TWO passengers, lol).

The new Cobras beat me worse, but the STIs still get me by an honest 3 to 3 1/2 lengths 0-100.

Hence my desire for a little giggle gas.

Lancer Evos are another car to look out for. They can make you look really stupid light to light.

350Zs and S2000s are no problem though. I've beat quite a few of both light to light.

I had a little run in with a CL 55 AMG early one morning. I'm not up on MB much, but as I sat at the light beside him I knew the "V8 Intercooled" badging on his fender meant it wasn't going to be a fair fight. I don't see to many of these around, so as we rolled out from the light, I decided WTF. Maybe if I could get just a half second jump on him before he decided to give her, I could hold him to the next light. I hit WOT and quickly hit 2nd gear, gaining about 2 car lengths on him. I'm just about at the top of 2nd (about 110 kph) and this guy roars by me like hes got full freakin' afterburners on! And I'm still only half way to the next light! So much for that idea! I laughed. Just too funny. I guess you had to be there.

a SL55 AMG is not something to not even consider messin round with less youre SC'd or turbo'd.... those are one baaaad ****** of a car & thats the baby of that series!! And they are verrrrry sharp lookin too!

SL55AMG:
AMG-built supercharged 5.5L 24-valve V-8 engine
493 hp @ 6,100 rpm
516 lb-ft @ 2,750 - 4,000 rpm
0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds
MSRP: $125,775

SL65 AMG:
AMG-built twin-turbocharged 6.0L 36-valve V-12 engine
604 hp @ 4,800-5,100 rpm
738 lb-ft @ 2,000 - 4,000 rpm
0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds

A recent kill for me was a RX-8...I drilled him and he even hit it first. We were doing about 30-40 on the on ramp to a state hwy. I was in second, and was ready when I heard the bee-hive sound.... I jumped him a lenght 1/2 and at the top of second through third, I left him like he was tied to a tree.....

I was really surprised to be quite honest.

It can't say enough if you feel the 928 is a little slow 400-420 at the rear wheels via a Super Charger is insane.
I have the GTS at 5 PSI and it handles anything out there. I really like playing with the new Corvettes. They are fast, but not enough especially at speed already. My last encounter I let one several times, starting at 70 get the jump. by 100 to 110 I was into his back bumper to the point I had to brake. Not bad when you consider when you delibrately let him down shift and pull away before you go.
