Unhappy sharks in danger

I'm stuck in CA for work this weekend while my 4 sharks and one 911 are parked 60 ft away from the water, elevation 3 ft in Clearwater beach

When power goes out, turn off your main disconnect, shut off all breakers in the box except for the one for the generator. Plug the generator into the outlet and turn on the small breakers, like kitchen, living room, etc. That way the generator will power up portions of the house and you won't have to mess with extensions cords all over.

Of course you can mess with that for next storm. Good luck brother.
I've got the stuff to do it by backfeeding the drier plug. BUT - I discovered - when my house was built (Early 70's) they put a separate panel with the main panel at the meter JUST for the 220...no way to get the juice to the 110 panel in the garage, and still be able to isolate from the line feed.

I may try your trick next time.

Thanks, tho.

I hope everyone down there weathered the storm okay. No shark casualties would be a nice bonus as well. Fingers crossed.

I'm OK. House needs a little work and I have lots of trees down. Many snapped like tooth picks. I'm on a generator for power and I'm on wireless broadband through my cell company since we have no phone lines that work. It sucks but it could have been much worse. We are very lucky that the storm shifted north so we missed the backside of the storm. However, we still got whacked by the outer eye wall so we still got some really intense winds but nothing like Ivan.
