Absolutely! What makes me cringe are the stalwart souls with interference motors who either do not trust the WSM method @ 45 deg and prefer to index the cams on their TDC marks to dismantle - or do so without the flywheel lock.
The early 16v are clearly more forgiving - thankfully: the flywheel lock for my first TB experience too long ago was a pry bar jammed in the ring gear through the inspection hole ....
