My '81 16v easily has over 300,000 miles. The odometer froze up around 6 years ago with 243,000 on it. Owned since new, it has never had any lower end engine work and has cost roughly around $2k a year to maintain. The MSRP was approx. $40,000 if I remember correctly.

A friend in DP harbor here owned a 928. It was a 1979 and had over 400K miles on it but I don't remember exactly how much.

Mine has 303,000 miles on it. Granted, it had 102,900 just the other day. A minor glitch in the odometer caused it to roll over the wrong number. Purrs like a kitten for a 300k car, though.

The very brown 1980 still has the original 85 mph speedo and the odometer reads 830,000 plus miles.

Just as with many low milage odometers this high miler also lies ... it started to roll over 100,000 miles at a time best guestimate is 150,000-200,000 miles. The odometer has not worked since I have owned it and I never really care how far I have gone.(that should be obvious) It did spend the weekend at the Willow springs short track ,I got to take three more victims for rides. They combined the red and orange run groups on Sunday so I was thrown in with the "fast cars" . The starter solenoid came apart so I imposed upon my students and others to push start the old very brown 1980 for the rest of the run groups Saturday and Sunday. Plus my exhaust Y pipe broke early Sunday patched it with a coat hanger hose clamps and soda cans (which melted). All of which made it even funnier to me considering the laps times were better than 3/4 s of the 90 cars. Yes there were many students !

My '88 has 269,000 and the car is awesome with the exception of a dash cap (still pulls at 150 mph). My project '84 has 296,000 and pulls at 145 mph.
