I found this wing for sale and I think it looks pretty good but the car that it is shown with has some fender flares installed. This is throwing me off a little as to how it will look on a car without the wide body look. Has anyone seen this installed? Does anyone here have it installed on their car? Pictures?
Thanks

Thanks, I was wondering how much they were at AIR. If I were to remove my "wing" and install this one, would I have to fill in the old holes from the stock wing or does the stock wing glue down? I am not ready to repaint the car just to update the look of the wing.
Look closely at the hatch on my car. Notice how it doesn't quite close to the same level as the wings next to it? What can cause that. The PO had a problem getting the hatch open because he drilled out the lock. I have fixed all of those isues but it still doesn't quite line up when closed. I also need the piece of trim or rubber or whatever it is that fits below the hatch in the "crack" between the rear of the car and the bottom edge of the hatch. Anyone know the name of this piece?

To remove an S rear spoiler and have it look nice you need all new rear hatch metal trim, new 1/4 trim and a new 1/4 gaskets PLUS the bolt attachment points on the 1/4 panels will need to be painted. It is no small task.

Quote "Tool cover?" Are you calling me a tool cover? LOL No the black "trim" or "seal" that goes on the outer lip of the rear opening. The bottom edge of the hatch closes against it

No, I just didn't know what part you were talking about.

Any good automotive paint store can make it by recipe some will do custom match where you give them your gas lid. They then mix the paint to the recipe spray paint a sample and compare the new paint to the color of your somewhat faded gas lid. The art then is they adjust the mix and spray another sample and keep doing it until in the bright light of day it matches !
One thing that will help that gap, is to add VW "fender beading" to that gap.
It's the same stuff that lines the bumper covers. You just unscrew the trim
piece, and insert the fender beading, and bolt it back down. It's a nice mod,
and it looks a lot better... It's only $12 for a roll of it...
Here's a couple pics of my car after the fix:
A little hard to see, but you get the idea...

Hey bcdavis. You have the same problem that I do. Your wing on your hatch doesn't quite line up with the wing tips on the hips. Is this normal? Maybe I don't have a problem after all.
IRRC i saw one at SITM. I like the style, just needs to be a tad lower on the hatch i think. The lower outerlip of the wing would look good level with the bottom of the rear quater window.
Little pricey as well
