For what its worth, there used to be a great japanese based 928 gts website. On there they had some great mods. One was a 6 light HID setup. Talk about turning night into day. All 4, fogs and parking, plus high beams all HID on at the same time. It looked great. So it can be done.

Dudes, if you drive behind me in a 928 tour and your lights shine in through my rectum and out through my eyeballs and blind the driver in front of me, I am pulling the handbrake and letting your insurer deal with the consequences. But seriously, too-bright lights are one of the few things that make me happy I don't own a gub.

Some of these japanese gts's probably had rocket launchers and oil sprayers too. Here is a pic with 4 lights on there is another with all 6 lit in the dark.

You question the oil sprayers, but not the rocket launchers?

Well, the engineer they hired to put this feature in place in around '87 didn't correctly divine Porsche's true intentions, and then they just dropped the whole idea shortly thereafter.

Unfortunately the site has been down for the last half year or so. They had videos and great pics. They were a talented group and some other mods were a push button start, video in dash, and porsche shields where a ferrari puts the scuderia shield. Also factory quality molded lower door enclosures for additional speakers.

To hell with having all the lights on at the same time. Andrew, just get a set of H4's off of an ROW car. Trust me- the 747 I fly doesn't have lights like these!

N!

PS- When's the next Michigan beer night?

Do you have the old URL? Maybe it's on one of the archive projects?

Never too much well-aimed light, imo.

Here's the old url;

http://www5b.biglobe.ne.jp/~IBISgts/

It was listed on a few 928 link lists and it's title was "Legend of the best of the best"

Quick update:

I opened up the old relay, and it looks like I may have fried the circuit board. There appears to be some scorching on some of the etchings on the board. I will update as soon as I get the new (to me) relay from DR.

Quick update. I got the replacement relay from DR today. Thanks DR! The new relay works. Unfortunately it works too good. With it, the lights are on all the time... even with the key out of the ignitiion! Good thing is now I know it's not my light bulbs.

So I put the relays side by side and started to compare. Ah HA! I could see that one of the traces on the old relay had burned and created a gap (like a burned fuse). I soldered a jumper, plugged it back in and now it works the way it's supposed to before I started ****ing things up. (What a dumass!)

Morals of the story are:
1. If it ain't broke, leave it the frick alone!
2. If you can't follow rule #1, then at least look up how much it's gonna cost you BEFORE you frick things up!
3. Buy DR beer. Lots of beer, because he's a kind soul, and he deserves it.

P.S. - DR, I'll send you the relay that didn't fit back. I'll throw the other one away as it's no good. Thanks again!
