Did you switch back to the original relay?

HK if all you need to dissuade you from buying something, is one failure instance, then you should stay with what you have, especially if it never needs service or attention in 20 years! Good luck.

You can blame this serew up on the car. I ran the car out of gas. I assumed (***-u-me ) I would get further than 130 miles on a tank of gas, I had my foot in it tooo much.
If this car is like most others with an electrical pump the fuel cools the pump so no fuel no cooling.
Lessons bought & lessons taught.

Eric, 130 miles on a tank, especially with your foot in it, is crazy man.... the harder you drive, the better mileage you should get. On the track, we usually get well into the 20mpg+ range. In the city in an auto it can be as bad as 16mpg.

Had her towed to the mechanic shop saturday morning which is @ 30 miles from where I live. He needs to check it out anyway. Just bought the car last week in KY. I have all the old owners service records. I drove it back from KY last week with no problems. Would like his opinion ( he smarter than I am ). After his laundry list I will try to take it from there.

You could have a tank venting problem. Are you sure the tank was empty or did the pump fail under vacuum trying to crush the tank? A Rennlister discovered on his trip to SITM that a fuel pump banjo bolt seal can cause enough of a leak to degrade milage severely. My milage was in the 12-14MPG range when I was driving it.
