Anyone have the Stable Energies FE Mount?

Steve,
I mounted mine the same as you did, but as I did it I wondered if for some reason it would have made more sense to mount it rotated 180º -- that is, with the top of the fire extinguisher toward the passenger door and the extinguisher aimed at the fuse panel.
Any thoughts?

Mark,
I had the bracket mounted that way initially, but the FE would not fit because the FE's handle rubs against the seat. Is your handle as long as the one in my pic, or do you have a different FE?

I have the same mount in my Turbo. Apparently it fits both the 94 turbo and 93 GTS without modification.
My handle is the same size Although you need to mount the handle in the down position. The bend in the handle is designed to lock the handle under the mounting strap. It should not be sticking out the way yours is in the picture.

The bracket and the FE can only go together the way it is pictured - the top of the FE is slotted, and it connects to the top of the bracket, so it will not rotate.
Do you have the Amerex Halon FE?
Thanks.

I have the same extinguisher, got it from Bob at SE. Looks great in chrome. It is out of the car right now as I am prepping it for the local Concours coming up in a few weeks.
I have had several of these extinguishers and they have all mounted the same way. I mount it as pictured with the nozzle facing down. (Easier to unclip in an emergancy and less chance of getting unclipped by mistake) The other picture is not so clear but you can see the handle is held under the strap and the upper notches are set so the extinguisher slides onto the metal bracket only one way. If yours is different you may want to call Bob or Laurette to discuss it with them sounds like it may need replacing.
Hope this helps.

Just looked at your picture again and although my bracket has no model number on it the instructions say FEM2 & 3 so I may have the FEM3. Sorry for the confusion. Although the handle still gets locked under as shown.
The difference in brackets is that the one I have is bent 90 degrees at the mounting point allowing you to face the nozzle down. I tried fitting it to the 93 GTS and it will mount up but does drag if the seat is lowered all the way.
I guess the earlier models will not allow mounting this way. Sorry for any confusion.

Anthony,
Yea - that is it - my FEM is straight all the way through.
Thanks for the tip re: hooking the handle under the strap. It looks better now, and it is less likely that a passenger's leg will get caught on it.

I am installing this. The instructing said nothing about knocking down the 2 tabs that was for the plastic cover. It was in the way. The screws SE provided was too short. I went to the store and got 4 M5-0.8 X 25mm Hex Head cap screws. The stock screws could be use to mount the bracket to the mount.

Agreed on having to source the M5-0.8 bolts, I used 25 mm and they work ok.
FWIW, this is what I had to do to get the FEM2 bracket mounted to the passenger seat in my '90 with 8-way non-heated non-sport seats:
