I would like one and Vertex has them for a little less, but I don't want my car impounded if there are any problems.

Curious.

Thanks.
Since H4's aren't US legal either, would it really make a difference?

I think his new album is suffering from the same thing that plagued Pretty Hate Machine. Back before the album he had an underground following for his live shows. Then PHM comes out and it's nowhere near has heavy as his live meterial. Then you have the pop fans that think Closer was his frist single and don't like anything else.

Overall it's an awesome album, I can't stop listening to it. Very similar to PHM vs his other work.

Nice to know a fellow fan. I as in 7th or 8th grade at a sam goody when the clerk handed me Pretty Hate Machine, said it was the best album ever. I figured what the hell and bought it, totally changed my taste in music. I have a custom vinal "NOTHING" sticker in the back window of my cars (need a new set for the 928). It's cool becasue nobody has a clue what it is, very subtle.

So, about that trans - what is the final drive?

[QUOTE=PorKen]I tried an early HID Lo/Hi conversion (SPW?), and it didn't work that well, so I have a couple of Q's about your HID kits:[QUOTE]

Low beam only? The H5 is low beam only but H4 has both
Glare problems? I have not noticed it on my car. Maybe Bill Swift has a comment.
Is the H4 cutoff line still sharp? I have only seen the H5 so far but I can't imagine why the cut off line would change any.

As Mark aluded to, I have the first H5 kit he sold and posted about it in another thread. As for glare, I've only had 2 other cars flash headlights at me and in both cases it was as I was cresting a rise or hill in the road and the other driver caught the full effect of the HID's as a result. I have found that HID systems that come as standard equipment on newer cars can be annoying to other drivers because they are so much brighter/harsh than standard halogens. If you install this kit, and I highly recommend it, be sure to get your headlights aligned properly or you WILL blind other drivers. I feel the lack of a hi-beam setting is a non-issue with these lights, by the way. They are that good. Very easy installation too, my write up on that will be posted soon

If the headlights are HID....how do they look with regular incandescent driving/fog lights? It seems to me that unless you figure out a way to make those "blue" as well, it might look a bit odd.

-My brother worked for Trent in NOLA at Nothing Records a few years ago. I met him- he's really nice, but a bit spooky. Chris told me that he's really a bit paranoid about people coming to his place, but he seemed to take to me quite well- I got to sit in his silver 993.

NIN trivia: Where does the name "Nothing Records" come from?

I have a set of 8" H4's that came on my '87 S4 that I'd sell, if anyone is looking for a set. I'm replacing them with 7" units that have that gorgeous chrome ring!

Oh ya, mine is a Japanese-spec S4.

Actually, I was just trolling with that post...... Japanese-spec H4's have a reversed cutoff pattern, with the right side wedge translated to the left side............ because those people drive on the wrong side of the road!

I have actually clocked them about 15 degrees, to bring the left-high wedge to horizontal and toss the right side horizontal portion up. It's sub-optimal, looks like some drunk Californina installed them, and sure lights up the ditch!!

It will be better as soon as MARK gets me a real set!!
