David, I know it was asked earlier in the thread, but I'm very interested in the specific weight of each wheel. Can you get that info from the various vendors, and post it on your site??? It would be greatly appreciated. Wheel weights will be a major factor in my decision making process this Fall, when it will be purchase time. Thanks,

Hi Chris,
I will try to get the weights on all of the wheels and post it on the website (and here if you like) in the next few days.

Hi Pimpdaddy,
Chris, any word on why your shark is bowlegged. (Rear align issue)
Back to this weight thang. Kumho has been posting their tires weights.
Them round black things are at the outside circumference of the tire/wheel combo
and probably make a big impact.

Been scoping the Ecsta SPT.
Remember when I first got a pair of Pirelli P-7000's. Real light tire carcass.

Hi Chris,
Here are some wheel weights for you, these are the 17,18,and 19" replica and aftermarket "non-custom" wheels. (all weights in lbs)
I will get some weights for the custom 3-peice brands (Kinesis, Fike ,etc ) later today (which will be much lighter and are of course much more expensive).
For comparison a Factory 16 x 7 Phone Dial weighs 22
17" Cup 1 - Front 24.5 and Rear 26.5
17" Cup 3 - Front 24.5 and Rear 26.5
18" Cup 3 - Front 27 and Rear 32
18" MODA R6 - Front 28 and Rear 30
18" MODA R10 - Front 34 and Rear 35
18" SSR GT3 - Front 22 and Rear 24
18" SSR GT10 - Front 22 and Rear 24
19" SSR GT3 - Front 24 and Rear 28
19" SSR GT10 - Front 24 and Rear 28
19" MODA R10 - Front 37 and Rear 39
The SSR brand seems to be pretty good as far as weight goes (18x8 is same weight as 16x7 factory wheel) and as expected are the most expensive of these wheels (starts at $2200 for 18" set of 4).
The Modas are HEAVY, but are not very expensive (starts at $999 for an 18" set of 4)!
The Good ole inexpensive 17" MM Cup 1s and 3s are not much heavier than the smaller factory 16x7.
More numbers soon....

Hi Chris,
Just a quick fact for you. I happen to have the front wheel/tire off of my Euro (needed access for my 210 Watt XENON HID Headlight, Fog and Driving Light Install :-) I just weighed it (Kinesis K59 9.5" x 19" with Continental 265/30-19) and it weighed 49 lbs (wheel and tire).

Thanks David. That is some good info. Yeah, I would definitely love the same on the new 18 and 19 inch products. Regarding the 19's on the Euro, do you feel that 49 pounds is light or heavy for that combo??? TIA,
Ernie, I still haven't bothered with the rear alignment issue. She handles beautifully, and it's more of a minor wear issue at this point, so I'm not stressed about it. This fall, I will probably take her off the road for a month or so, and catch up on some much needed maintenance (diving under the intake) and a few mods (s/c!!!!), so I will look at it further then. She runs, brakes, and handles so sweet, that it's hard to park it for anything more than a day or two.

Chris,
>Thanks David. That is some good info.
No problem, glad it will help with your decisions.

From looking at weights of other simlar tires I would guess my front tire weighs around 28-30 lbs. that would make the front wheel weigh around 19-21 lbs. I don't have a problem with that at all for a 9.5" x 19" Forged 3-peice racing wheel.
Actually I just got off the phone with Kinesis and was told the approx weight of their wheels is as follows.
18" Wheels approx 20 lbs (depending on width)
19" Wheels approx 22 lbs (depending on width)
18 Reverse Drop Center Wheels approx. 24 lbs (depending on width)

That's what I was looking for David. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!! Just may have to get me a set of them 19" Kinesis hoops this fall. Probably get the package deal in the same widths and tire sizes as on your Euro. Man that avatar of you on the BRP is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not positive, but I think I scored a set of these off my neighbor today. He acquired them with a 986 Boxter S purchase, and was looking for winter wheels. We traded my turbo twist with all season and some cash for these 19" K28. One barrel is bent, but the fit is nice. The rubber was too big to turn. I want to refinish and put proper sized shoes and roll with these.

This is a set of kinesis k28 rims. A competition 3-piece rim. These are 19-inch chrome rims for 987 Boxster s. 235/35r19 front. 265/35r19 rear. They have Michelin pilot sport tires mounted on them. The tires are in okay condition but not excellent. Rims themselves 3 are in very good condition. One of the rears has some curb rash. These are for sale at the right price but I would vastly prefer a trade for an oem set of 18inch rims and tires for a 987 s that have WINTER tires mounted on them.
I remember back to the SITM days at Grand Father Mountain, these were my favorite rims on my favorite car. Tom F Barney is by far my favorite 928 ever and the Grey KIensiis K28's were my favorite rims ever. Slowly inching myself along!

Thanks for the thread revival. A nice reflection and showcase of some of the nicest aftermarket wheels for the 928 IMO. I always admired DR and CZ's choices in aftermarket wheels.
You scored a really nice set of wheels there.

What make you think you have scored? There is nothing in the thread about the offsets of the subject wheels. They may be quite well off from "scored."

Lucky me!
I own the wheels that were on DR's 85 Euro.
I think they will look smashing on my 93 black metallic GTS

Best case... only need proper-sized tires. Worst case I clean them up and flip for beer money.
In any case, it motivated me to install a set of completed refurbed Carrera III with brand new rubber I had in storage. These should do for a few years:
