Post Another New Hampshire Boostard - Supermodel

Last week I bought a supermodel kit from Andy Keel, I am going to start out with the 6 psi Eaton setup and X-pipe with a planned upgrade later to 10 psi and a IC.

Looking forward to getting the parts in and planning the installation.
I am planning an install for this on a weekend a few months away, anybody want to join in an install party this fall?

I have been sucked back into the vortex of the horsepower addiction and joined the darkside.
Oh Well, why fight it. It only makes things worse.

Excellent choice, but why the long wait for the install? I would have hard a time waiting and knowing that everything is in the garage just sitting in boxes.

With the intake off and never to go back on again, I would suggest that that's a good time to deal with your crispy under-intake hoses and wiring harness connections. Also, don't forget - it's probably time to check the tension on your new t-belt.

Just FYI, replacements for the crispy hoses under the stock intake do not need to be ordered. Andy's kit does not use the stock configuration and comes with all the breather and vacuum hose that is needed. When I did mine, I had Susan at DEVEK order me everything under the intake only to need none of it.

Replace the knock sensors and crank sensor.

You plan on ordering the IC later? I didn't know Andy had any more IC bottom plates or I would get one as well.

No knock sensors for Warren (early 32 valve) but while you are in there do go ahead and replace the crank position sensor. I wasted a week diagnosing that one. Clean your grounds back there as well.

Engine wiring harness and Crank sensor, roger that!

Being that my car is from FL, it does need a newer engine harness. Anybody have one in good shape? Mine feels like hard plastic.

I need to find a shop who does mandrel bent aluminum tubing feeding to the intake. This was on a previous thread recently, anybody making progress on that setup?

Thanks Tony, those tubes look like a nice quality. Did you use them to fabricate your intake? What sizes did you use? BTW, the appearance of your engine bay looks awesome. I want to take the extra time and make mine look and fit really good.
So I will not be rushing the install process in the middle of summer because I would rather have a shark to drive than no shark at all. Winter is too long in NH!

How many boostards are there in the granite state? Supermodels?

Now that I have ordered, I wonder how long it will be before the kit parts start showing up.

Thanks Warren. Most of my time on the install was spent at gettting the look right...colors, plating..routing of wire and cables. Place for everything and everythign is in its place. I like to think that atleast.

The quality of the tubing is great. Its pretty amazing when you look at them closely and how they can bend that stuff smoothly.
Im at 3" right now. My fender is sized to take 4" and i have all the tubing up in the loft of the garage. Ford 105mm Tb should work with some tweeking. The only thing im concerned with is the Mass airflow and how it will react to being opened up.
As for gains from doign this...Im not sure? Each time guys open up the intake on the eaton/autorotor cobras, they see gains.

Didn't Mark Anderson and Joe Fan just cut out the guts of the MAF and stick it into a bigger tube?

I am also soon to be boosted.

I have a twinscrew with intercooler on order and it will be delivered polished.

Can't wait. My 85 5 speedwith 2.75 axel and limited slip. Currently 3055 pounds in street form.

Should be good and scary

Ken,
Sounds like your going to have some extra BLING under the hood. Nice system on order, how did you get your weight down on her?

I was debating if I should have the groupo powder coated from Andy or just wait and have them all done at the same time.
What gets powder coated in the groupo package?
I want to powder coat the cam covers, supercharger, intake, all the metal intake tubing and any metal parts worth doing in the kit that arent mentioned here.
