How do I re-wire the high beam fogs as running lights?
I currently turn on the fog lights as daytime running lights to help make me a little more visible. I noticed when you have the fog lights on and I flip the high beams, the regular fogs turn off and another set that is aimed lower turns on. I'm thinking about rewiring those to always be on when the ignition is turned on. Anybody know of a way to do it or where I should start? Also, would that mess up the other lights?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

The fog light pattern (should be on with low beams or parking only) should be lower than the driving light pattern (should be on with high beams only).
The driving lights could be problem for other drivers, especially at night.

I picked up the wiring and jumpers at lunch today so I can do this tonight. I'll see if only the regular fog lights come on when the jumper is put in and let you guys know what happens. If both are on I'll disconnect it and see if there's another way to do it to keep from blinding anyone.

What about using a lower wattage bulb in the driving lights?
And aimining it below oncoming driver's windows?
Could be a quick way to get around using the popups...
Although that mod with the Shevy Suburban light seems like the best bet.
It has the proper lens for a low beam, and fits the stock location.
I think the only mod was losing the stock bezel...

The idea was to use the fogs, and *also* wire up the high beams to the wiring of the regular headlights...
So you run the high beams all the time at night, but with a lower wattage bulb...
Or...
Swap lenses, bulbs, and housings...
So your fogs have the clear lenses, and the lower wattage bulb, but are switched on via the fog light switch...
That might be the best bet, without having to rewire anything...
I do like the look of the suburban light mod...

Did it last night and it's fantastic! The regular fog lights come on when the key is turned and act as daytime running lights. The tail lights don't come on.
The only thing that might cause me to consider really re-wiring directly from the lights later is the license plate light and the dash lights come on with the key so they'll burn out quicker.
The strange things that are listed in the directions for the S4 on Nicols' site did not happen so I love it!
