Default "Shark infested communities" - u guys are lucky!

LYONSDUNN (a new poster here - his name is 'Cap') recently got a NICE 86.5 5-speed. He lives about 45 minutes from me, and had PM'd me about a couple of locally-available services, and also about his hunting idle.
Yesterday he came over to the house and helped me put in the AC compressor - THANKS, CAP! Much easier with 2 sets of hands! Then we did some work on his car. We took a spare MAF I have, and installed it in his car, and - VOILA - no more hunting idle! He's just going to keep my spare in there until he can get his rebuilt, or get another one.
This is now the 4th car that this MAF has been in, for similar reasons.
I also showed him how to tie-wrap his weaka$$ heater valve for the summer, or at least until he can do the metal replacement. REAL A/C was a newfound joy for Cap!

He has a SWEET exhaust that he had done. Test pipe and an RMB....SWEET SOUND!

Just spending te afternoon wrenching on the cars together, and talking sharks was great. Makes me REALLY JEALOUS of all you guys that live in more heavily "shark-infested communities" that get together on a regular basis.
I can count the number of 928's in my area on my hands, and there are few that are as passionate about their cars as most of us on the list.

I hear you Mark -living in similar circumstances, my shallow consolation is that I own about half of the sharks in a 100 Km radius - from there, it continues downhill ....

I can count the number of Rennlist sharks in the Rochester/Western New York State area on one hand, while simultaneously hitchhiking and flipping the bird (yes, that leaves three fingers).

I know there are at least a couple more in Rochester, but their owners aren't 'listers. I wish they were.

I'm own a 75 to 100 mile island here in Jackson Ms. I think the closest 928's to me are the Louisiana group, then I think it's you, Mark. I need to take a road trip this summer and see a few of you out there. I'm trying to schedule attending one of the gatherings. I'll keep working on that.

Hey Larry, I'm about 3 hours away from you to the north. In Southaven, right outside of Memphis.

What bothers me is that all the get-togethers like SITM, sharktoberfest, etc. are either on the east or west coast. Nothing significant happens anywhere near Denver so I can't participate.

Dave, there are about 20 928 owners in Denver that get together ( just took a ride up to Mt. Evans for breakfast memorial day) . Let us know and we will put you on the mailing list.

Closest one to me is a 1980 with a busted tranny. I keep trying to buy it for parts but the guy wants like $3000 for it!

On the other hand, living in an area where they are almost common place, doesn't make one's own car so special

being in an area with 50+ sharks I still find it breath taking to see one... in the last 10 days I've seen 5 just while out and about
the easiest way to proliferate the number of sharks in your area is to buy another one! then there's always another one around
