Default GTS Low Pressure A/C connection??

I spent about an hour last night searching for the low pressure a/c connection on my GTS.
On the S4 it is below the coil on the passenger side and on the 82's its on the same pipe line just a kittle further back.
I'm at a loss on the GTS - just can't find it.
Traced pipes, used a mirror, even called Jim M to have a look at his GTS, same result.

Anyone know where they have hidden it please?

I spent some face time with my A/C on last Saturday. My A/C low pressure is found where you say it should be. It should be directly below where the radiator hose bends toward the radiator. To attach the A/C machine I take my arm run it under the radiator hose directly to the left fender. Not sure why it would elude you.

Maybe I was drinking to much beer last night.
I will look again this morning.
86_5Tiburon,
Is your GTS R12 or R134a?

I belive that all GTS 928's came with R134 standard. Some type of restriction imposed by the goberment after 1993 MY. The shop manual lists only one compressor (not the 6E71? I have) but the other one (10AP20 or something like that) and R134 coolant.

It's amusing (in a sick way) how often that statement is true for a variety of 928 components.

Heinrich,
I thought you had got it - but no its not there either.
I am waiting for the car to cool down so I can search in the aera below the coil again.
It has got to be there somewhere.

The early 93's were R12 and the later R134.

Well, on the R134a cars the valve was moved to the fuel cooler. There are no other locations. OH!!! ... you may have the same trouble as I do. I got a brand new line and it is the superseded one, expecting the valve to be at the fuel cooler. It just may be "nowhere", in which case you have to fill at the compressor.

Heinrich,
You were OH so close.
My good friend Schocki got it right first time.
On MY93 cars and on it was moved to the expansion valve.

Schocki also pointed me in the direction of the WSM Page 87-129 where it details the tests to check your A/C. Mine was spot on according to the HP, LP and vent temp at an ambient of 32C.

Hope this helps someone else in the future.
Thanks,
Roger

I think it was moved on the late '93 GTS's. Mine being early (probably a '92) still had R12 and the low pressure connection near the passenger coil.

My GTS is a "later" model R134a, and the low side fitting is behind the firewall as Heinrich pointed out.

Rich,
The fuel cooler is on the front of the firewall and the expansion vave is behind.
Hence he was close. I did not think to remove the plastic cover so I missed it.
Just fun.
Shame you did not see the post at the beginning as I could of used your knowledge.

I originally couldn't find it either. A mechanic friend of mine thought to look under the plastic. So I can't claim to have discovered it either! Just when you think you know everything, life says nah - there is always more.
