While trying to sort out electrical gremlins i came across a black box dangling by the fuse box. the box has a label that reads K-Loop System by GW Fenn automotive controls it seems to be spliced into some wiring. anyone have any idea what this does or can it be removed.

The black box sounds like it was added during federalization to incorporate an O2 sensor. My 84 Euro S motor had one made by Neutronics. I unpluged mine, and jumped the wires on the connector so it was basically back to stock, (no O2 sensor in the loop). Passes smog test just fine this way.
