Default Leaking Water Pump

It appears that my two year old 5000 mile water pump is leaking. I've had a slow leak for some time and it's recently gotten faster. It seems to be coming from under the center belt cover. Rog, JimM and I will be replacing it Wed AM. Open invite to anyone who wants to watch.
Who's had their water pump leak? I'm interested in how often this happens.

Had the WP gasket leak on me, good job keeping an eye on the situation though.

Had the pump itself leak, right from the center shaft. Slow leak at first (maybe a 1/4 cup per day) that lasted about a year. Then it suddenly got much heavier...nearly a gallon a day. I replaced it within a few days after it got that bad.

I first thought it was the thermostat housing. It was actually both the housing AND the pump.

I'll be interested in seeing whether it's the pump, the gasket, or even the bolt that goes through the water jacket.
