JE how's this (can be changed but is booked):
We both arrive at midnight as planned and travel with the DC crowd the next morning.
Loads of fun and beautiful Southern belles
I leave CLT at 5:30pm Sunday, straight to San Francisco, business the next day.
John drives your Porsche home with the group Sunday (not sure if I need to bum a ride to CLT or if y'all feel like a small diversion, or if I should make John leave early and hook up with the group after dropping me off at CLT.
Workable?

Should work. Now to fix that darn leak in the 83's PS and finish getting the S4 bolted back together.

You know how I know it's SITM time? The fuel pump(s) in the OB puke. lol The fender well pump went south last nite. Pump is 2 years old... wtf?, over.
I may be in attendance. The BRP is a freakin blast and watching a train of 928's roll down it at high speed is something else. Assumes the 78 is all better. Don't even have the black guy as emergency spare, it's down for injector and intake maintenance. I could ride a bike.... meet you guys down there and I'll have some cold brews waiting for you. lol
Hope I can make it. I get a stint behind Kempf if I do.

I just had a new Bosch pump die this Sunday...less than 3000 miles on it....Bosch new and it is already out...could be a piece of something in it from the tank. I had a new pump last year start to make noise after 1000 miles. Both were Bosch...non German made...it does make a difference.

Since we bought Rosy, the fuel pump has made noise. A few years ago, Jim came by, while he was attending a Frenzy event, and listened to it, told me to replace it....
Well, at the start of Rosy's problems, last September-ish, I replaced the fuel pump. It still had the same noise, so I had another shipped to replace it, and then ended up just buying it, as the third one STILL makes the noise! So, I'll travel any more with a spare....

Spare fuel pumps... what have we come to gentlemen? And why do these simple devices keep failing? I put 2 new Bosch pumps in 2 years ago. Fender pump has pretty much always hummed or downright buzzed from the get go. And if it's eating gunk from the tank, why doesn't the undertank pump fail beforehand? I think the mounting point is flaky and the pump vibrates itself to death.
Back on topic... as I recall the BRP is rolling K/Ka band. Bring your V1's. Don't go too deep in any corner. Don't look out over cliffs in the middle of the corner. Make sure the rev-limiter (co-pilot) is sedated or enthusiastic. Let Kempf and Mohr lead, follow at a distance that allows you to avoid The Man. And pack spare fuel pumps if you got 'em.

After the first pump went, I had the tank flushed, and replaced the in-tank strainer. Flushed the fuel system as well. These two new pumps are not suckin' up junk. Just for your info...
Uhhhh, how can they vibrate themselves to pieces, when they're rubber vibration isolated?

That's me, So 928 green you could bend me over double and I wouldn't break. I'm planning to leave Derwood, MD (near the Shady Grove Metro for the DC types) and head for 66 to 81 then points South. Plan now is to leave about 5:30AM. This will be my first trip in a 928. If Scotts description about how it feels on the road I expect to be fully rested by the time I get to Smoketree. Isn't there a hands on maintenance event on Sunday? If I feel good by the time I get to the BRP I'll join in, but you better put me near the end of the pack.

so is speeding, but we still do that as well. one other caveat. the brp is federal land so different rules apply. tickets will go away if paid so there is no record with the state. however, the park police have discretion as to how they want to punish you for your crime. it is legal for them to confiscate your car if they so choose.

...but the section of the BRP that I think people are talking about is in NC
Maybe we should take it easy untill we get past the Pines of Otter?
But Tom is right.
