Default Slap Happy Clutch Pedal

I have a problem with my clutch pedal on my '78. If I push it in about two inches the thing slaps down to the floor. If I pull it up ~two inches it slaps back up in place. I did a search but couldn't find anything. Fluid level is right on. Any ideas?

Perhaps air is in there? Hmmm... maybe I'll make her bleed and see how she does then.

Sounds like it is not activating the clutch at all. What you describe is the action of the helper spring up under the dash.

Mine was just doing the same thing. It would slam itself up or down after moving it a couple of inches. Bled the clutch making sure to get the air out of the slave cylinder and all is well now. Works beautifully and is easier to press with new fluid.

Bleed the master (at the clutch pedal) first.
