Possibly the youngest owner?
Call me crazy but my 16 year old son now has a 928. We've been looking at cars for him for several months and was looking at used Honda's and Toyotas. I've always wanted him to get a 928 but the wife was not in agreement but last week I got a call from a local shop and the owner wanted out. The 928 kept stalling a red lights and the shop spent several thousand dollars chasing the problem but gave up. They said if I wanted the car I could have it for $7k "as is". It's a 91 AT with 100k miles and they are the original owners. It did stall several times on my way home but after spraying some WD40 in the breather line that goes to the idel stabilizer line the problem dissapeared. He has added some 18" wheels and changed the stereo and is a proud new 928 owner.

now thats a pretty cool dad!
give me a few years for mine to sprout and there will be another one.
He already sits on my lap, picks the key, puts it in and starts it...we back it out of the garage together...4 1/2

You found a great deal! However, a 16year old in a high powered car like a 91 S4 is not a good thing, especially for daily driving.... At least it has airbags! My parents made the mistake of giving me a turbo sports car when I was 16...I had a great time and am very lucky to still be alive! Many, many cool stories....& that car only had 200hp in a 3000lb car! I bet his insurance is really bad too! Hopefully he will keep his speed sessions on the track only!

Lucky kid! At 16 (in 1982) I was driving an orange 1973 VW Camper. At 17 a 1975 Jeep CJ-5, at 18 a 1976 Buick Skylark (V8 fortunately). A 928 was only a dream.
One of our local guys bought his Euro @ 17 (way to go Lars!). I also ran into another kid who says he's had his '89 928 for 2 years and while I don't know is age for sure, he doesn't look a day over 18.

I'm assuming he'll get a discount on parts when needed!

He is a straight A student and very responsible but only time will tell how he handles this. After buying hundreds of wrecked 928's I have yet to buy one where it looks like the occupant was seriously injured and I think it is much safer than the other cars we were considering.
I agree that the 928 is a very safe (especially with airbags) vehicle, had to be among the safest made for its time! Your son doesn't seem to be like you or I in regards to pushing the limit!!! Thats a good thing! If I remember correctly I managed to wear out the tires on my old Conquest (same size as an S4) in 7,000 miles....donuts aren't good for tires! But damm they are fun! Luckily I have mellowed slightly in my more mature years! Mostly since I pay for tires!

Congratulations for your son. If he's got straight A-'s and takes after you, then he should be alright. I let a really good friend's son take my 94 GTS automatic to the high school prom two weeks ago. He was very careful and returned the car with a full tank of 93 octane. He too is a really good kid, has a golf scholarship for college and really excels at school. If I had a daughter, he could take her out. So if that's your kid too, he'll be fine.
By the way, what did the insurance company say? As I recall, CA rates aren't cheap.
