I noticed that Bill seems to have cobbled together a fix to route the throttle cable in such a way that it doesn't jeopardize rubbing against the Autorotor or approach the TB at an unusual angle.
Any interest in making a few extra of these to sell to your Supermodel friends?

I tried to edit or delete this thread and couldn't--I forgot that Bill wasn't using the Autorotor.
Randy, can you delete this thread, please?

well, if i understand correctly... the inlet piece on the eaton and twinscrew are slightly different. since bill is using that to mount his throttle assembly, it may/may-not work on the twinscrew cars.
for those of you who don't need cruise control or any of that other crap, I just took my throttle cable straight from the firewall and mounted it to the SC (actually, andy did it for me). So that way, the pedal was DIRECTLY connected to the TB and it had a very good/accurate feel (read: WAY better than the pre SC stock setup). Was also VERY easy to push the pedal down. This would only work if you didn't have the top part of the SC machined off.

I have a new one-piece universal design (fits both Autorotor and Jag Eaton setups) that mounts on the 85 throttle body and uses a single wheel at an angle. I was trying to use the stock cable wheel mounted on a different bracket, but the wheel is too large and will hit the hood liner. So, I need to fuss with it a little bit using a smaller wheel (I use sliding patio door wheels). Maybe a good working sample will be ready for Brian this weekend.
Two-piece design as on my car:

Bill now that you have redone the routing of the linkage do you think it would be ok to wind the return spring on the throttle body back up to stock?

Shane:
I was wondering the same thing. The throttle resistance seems OK, not too low, as it is, but I have to be very careful in adjusting the cable to make sure that the throttle plate seats at idle, perhaps due to the lower spring tension.

I dont know if i would even mess with the return spring. You want that set so there is NO DOUBT that the throttle is going to close when you let off. Stock or tighter...especially if the routing and linkage system has been changed.
Yours looks very freee moving Bill..nice job. The sliding door rollers...
