Dialing in The Goldmember Twin Turbo!
Well, I have finally had some time to work on the Goldmember Twin Turbo. I have this thing running really, really nicely now. I wasn't happy with the shifting of the tranny, so I bumped the pressure up a bit...easily done under the car in just 3 minutes. It shifts firmly now and there is less hesitation between shifts.
Why is is ever Lancer Evo, Neon turbo, etc. always wants to race the 928? Street roll-on, you just drop to 1st and drop the hammer and they then know not to fool around any more. I just keep wondering how much faster this car would be with a 5-speed. I have difficulties keeping traction in 1st gear in this car, and that is a wide gear..the car also has 245s, so I'm sure that it is making ample power. With the deeper 1st gear I'm sure this car would be a blast to drive.
I'm still amazed at how much better a turbocharged car runs when the temperatures drop down to like 50 degrees at night. What a rush, by the seat of the pants I'd guess at least +30 HP from a 75F day to a 45F night.
I'm open to entertaining offers on this car, though I am also considering keeping it. I want to re-route some of the charge air pipes to improve ground clearance, then jig the whole shebang for reproduction capabilities. If I keep the car, I now have a 3-bay stable at the new Bachelor Crib I bought this weekend...well it isn't mine yet, but will be by the end of May...5' of extra space in the front of the garage...that will make a nice workshop. I've had thoughts of cashing in on the Goldmember in favor of furniture...but somehow that just doesn't seem right.

Oh, man you should see the crib, it is really cool. Nice part is I can fill all three slots in the garage. I still want to build this S4 TT, but the job is crazy right now and I have little to no free time. Yes, you like the handle?

Batch? Meaning the "wife" stories no longer count?
