Default Watch Every 928 Onwer Must Have

Surfing the web for a new watch and I found the ultimate 928 owners watch. Belts must be changed 5yrs/60K miles, doesn't need water pump!
Tag Heuer concept watch, maybe a group purchase is in order when it becomes available.

Details available at:

Pretty cool - But when that thing is available - it's gonna be ~ $2500-3000...
If I have that much spare cash - I'm calling Andy/Murph/Capt Carl, etc! - LOL

Transcript of the Chat about the Monaco V4 with TAG Heuer's CEO,
Jean-Christophe Babin, held on July 19th 2004.

lance : What do you mean by very high? Will it be one the most expensive watches by TH?
JCB : Anywhere between 50 and 100 thousand euros as the V4 is to TAG Heuer what the tourbillion is to others

Preposterous. A tourbillon keeps better time because it's compensating for the spatial orientation of the balance wheel. A watch that uses drive belts? I doubt it will be "more" accurate.

I don't think the game is about accuracy--you can go radio set digital if it's that important-- rather the V4 is an entirely new, revolutionary way to design a timepiece. It's an engineering marvel! Though the invention of the automatic wristwatch was a huge leap in design, it was not a technological leap; the V4 is both a technological and a design leap, and as such may be the most significant design in the history of watchmaking.

I'm guessing that any 928 watch would run really fast...and at times it would just quit for no good reason. Probably has relays.

If a belt breaks, it bends the gears...

I'd recommend a "non-interference" digital watch instead...
