Does anyone know if the wiring is different from the 79 to 86 for the ac/CC unit?

In the 79 the A/C control is a vacuum unit and I believe the 86 is electronic. I know because I'm looking for one for a 79 as well and they are bloody expensive!

You are correct, it's vaccum based. They are a pain. Mine works OK. but little things like the fiber optic lights and sliders are toast. You can buy new ac slider *****, but not the unit it hooks into. Kind of sux.
