Brake pad are the best upgrade.
The real question is how much dust do you want to deal with vs braking power.
The Hawk HP plus are great for the street, but you'll be cleaning wheels every few days.
Others have had good results with the Hawk High Performance Street.

Hmm, some good ideas to consider . How about upgrading to TT brakes? Or are the GT brakes all I need?
I will be visiting Spokane Raceway in a couple of weeks and they have a 1 mile front straight. The 928's are usually aound 135 to 140 at the braking area and from what I can tell from last nights 'experiment' I am going to be standing on the brakes pretty damn hard going into T1.

Jim,
Good pads and fresh fliud.
Go for the TT if you have the $$ and will be visiting the track very often.
One other "upgrade" to brakes is wheels! Very opened wheels do wonders in keeping the brakes cool.

I used the Pagid pads and zimmerman cast hole rotors. When I asked Wally what he recommended as an upgrade, he said the GT's brakes were 'pretty damn good brakes', or something along those lines.....With new pads and the new rotors, the car hauls down at a very impressive rate.........Some one told me the difference between the GT black calipers and the tt Red calipers is the color......I don't know if this is true or not......

Jim ... the fluid is crucial too. And make sure your system is properly bled. Also check for the hell of it, the vac fitting at the master cyl, it tends to be brittle (not sure what would happen if it broke, maybe nothing)

GTS or Big Red upgrade......but pads & new fluid will give a good boost for less $$$....but 14" TT brakes would really stop!! Or 15" Cayenne TT's...but I'm pretty sure those won't fit.

Jim this may be the time to do a little Monster Garage and make the Cayenne or other humungous brakes fit. Say ... how about 997tt ceramic brakes ....

Looking back at all the road tests for S4/GT/GTS cars all seem to have the same general stopping distances even though the GTS has bigger front brakes. Like Gretch said I think I would start with good pads and cast hole rotors, if any fade is noticed then you might want to look into GTS or TT brakes. If the track you are on requires tons of braking with little straights, you might need the extra meat of the GTS rotors to absorb/disperse more heat, but if the track is not that brake intensive then the stock brakes should be just fine.

As I recall some of those tiles failed...
