Default Shop Manuals

In the new members thread above there is post that states that jim@928ptd.net has the 928 shop manuals on CD. I have tried to e-mail him but the it comes back as undeliverable. Anyone know the current address or any other source of the manuals?

Thanks

Art

Go here to look at the manuals and handbooks.

I don't see the shop manuals there but you can find them on Ebay usually as well as the printed manuals.

Cheers,

Dave

I'm proud of ya Art for reading through that topic - welcome!

Can somebody get ahold of Jim Morehouse and ask him to stop by this thread? We'll update his contact info when we get it. Thanks.

And I thought I got a good deal from my old mechanic who quit working on 928's. He said they were too labor intensive. I paid $100 for them. Laughed all the way out the door. Just think, I could have downloaded them for $20.

Actually, I don't think Porsche can't shut them down. The British have automotive repair publication laws that allow this. I rrmember that I obtained my BMW repair manuals and ETK from England. They have to be available to the consumer is my understanding.

Anyone from the UK care to confirm?

The quality is pretty good. Obviously scanned pages, some are crooked. Got them 2 minutes after giving my credit card #.
It comes in a zip and explodes into 15 volumes (I think) It has wiring diagrams for each year.

Thank you all for the quick replys. I will try the download. Also, I have tried to contact Jim thru the Rennlist but at a point in the process it asks what server I'm using and I have no idea what to type in, so I have just sent a message directly via my internet service provider to jim@928ptd.net

WOW....$20

I'd still suggest getting Jim's stuff instead. He has a lot more than just the manuals on his CDs.

Well, if Jim would respond to his emails... I tried getting a hold of him, as suggested when I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago, and never heard back from him. Anybody know if Jim is still doing manuals?

Regards,

Give Jim a break - he's a private individual just like you. He does this as a service to the 928 community, in his "spare" time.

Jim still provides the manuals in the USA, and I provide them in Europe, on Jim's behalf.

He is usually prompt in his replies to emails. It would appear he has decidied not to take a laptop on holdiay - an excellent idea !
